WWE loves a good distraction finish. Whether it is someone popping up on the apron, a wrestler playing their music during an opponent's match or a manager grabbing a referee, every show has, at least, one. Yet none of these make any sense. These wrestlers are supposed to be professional athletes, men who spend all week either in the ring or training to be in the ring. So why is it so easy for their eye to be taken off the ball? Take R-Truths recent troubles with Goldust. During Goldust's attempts to get R-Truth to team up with him he has lost him several matches by proving himself to be a distraction. Why? Is Truth scared of Goldust? I know he plays an idiot on TV but are we truly supposed to believe that things happening in his eye line cause him to consistently stop paying attention to his matches? Can you imagine this going on in any other sport? A footballer complaining that a fan was jumping up and down and distracting him. A boxer being put off because of some music being played somewhere in the venue. It wouldn't happen. Distraction finishes can work, but at least make the distractions worthy of the name. Having someone tamper with the sound system or move about outside the ring isn't good enough.
