10 Simple Ways To Fix The Divas Division

6. Invest Time And Build-Up Into Storylines

Another reason why NXT's women are doing much better than the main roster's is that the storylines are much more emotional. Fans are invested in the NXT women because of the story they tell; Sasha vs Bayley told the story of the underdog defying all the odds and finally having her special moment in the spotlight. On the other side, Sasha Banks was charitably cast as the arrogant heel whose ego got the better of her. (Not to mention her making a little girl cry at NXT:Respect was pretty great. Evil, but great). WWE have done better recently with their storylines - nearly every fan wanted Nikki to lose the title desperately before she broke AJ's record and the Charlotte vs Paige story was okay - but nothing has really been given time to develop organically. For instance, nobody cared when Sasha left Team BAD, mostly because Team BAD were never pushed as anything special. WWE have a great opportunity to improve their storylines now, recently portraying Becky Lynch as the Bayley-ish underdog. She had tons of crowd support behind her at the Royal Rumble as the fans became invested in her story, wanting her to win the title from her former friend who repeatedly told her she wasn't good enough. And now a triple threat at WrestleMania between Becky, Charlotte and Sasha is surely on the cards, so let's hope the questionable booking of WWE Creative doesn't strike again.
