10 Sleeping Giants WWE Refuse To Push

2. Sami Zayn

This one just hurts.

Cast your mind back to December 2014. Against all the odds, Sami Zayn had just won the NXT title for the very first time and it looked as though the most believable babyface the company we'd seen in years was about to take the main roster by storm.

Zane eventually popped up on Raw a few months later and the sound which met him - produced by his admittedly biased home crowd - all but confirmed WWE had just unearthed its newest top star.

Only, Zane was frustratingly injured during his pre-match entrance and eventually forced to disappear for seven months, killing much of the momentum he'd built up until that point.

Unfortunately, Vince McMahon seemingly lost faith in the star on this night as Zayn has never been put in a position of any real prominence since challenging John Cena on that episode of Raw.

At 35 years-old, there's still time for Zane to be repaired and pushed as the insanely likeable babyface we were treated to during his time in NXT. But, if WWE choose to bring the star back into the fold as a loudmouth manager again, any hopes of Zane as a main event player may be lost for good.
