An institution in his native Memphis, Jerry Lawler was the city's featured attraction for decades. A unified WCCW/AWA world champion, Lawler had a Hall of Fame career as both a wrestler and announcer.

Training his son Brian and breaking him into the industry in his own USWA territory, Lawler even gave Brian the rub when he eventually joined the WWF in 1997.

Denying that they were related, but insisting that Brian was better than all the competing lightheavyweights, Brian Christopher, as he was known, was a chip off the old block in appearance only.

While Jerry had never drunk alcohol or used drugs, Brian's issues with both would lead to tragic consequences.

After achieving success as one half Too Cool, Brian was fired from WWE in 2001 for conveying drugs over the Canada-United States border.

Attempting to reignite his career in TNA and later with sporadic appearances with WWE, the younger Lawler's career was fraught with addiction, enduring arrests for disorderly conduct and prison time for public intoxication.

Lawler's last WWE appearance came at NXT Arrival in 2014 as he reformed Too Cool for one night only.

Imprisoned in July 2018 following a DUI, Brian Christopher Lawler passed away in his cell, the result of an alleged suicide attempt.
