10 Specific Ways WWE Stars Can Recover From Awful Booking
4. Bayley
Is there a way back for Bayley?
Increasingly, it appears not. Long-term fans of hers, those so impressed by her incredible 2015 programme with Sasha Banks in NXT, always looked to the continuation of it as the platform of her reckoning. It was always a fanciful prospect, given that it was dependent on main roster creative to orchestrate it. Sure enough, the writers dropped their pens, and the ball, by barely booking it. Bayley and Sasha are good friends, better enemies. On RAW, they are neither, instead stuck in a bizarre cycle in which they and the writers alike experience selective amnesia, which is somehow even worse than the complete inertia both performers experienced throughout mid-to-late 2017.
Break that cycle.
Book.
The.
F*cking.
Feud.
And subvert it, given that there's zero chance of the RAW writers even approaching the brilliance of Brooklyn. This is a necessary narrative development and a necessary test of Bayley's true credentials as a performer. Has she peaked? Did she need the safeguard of NXT's protective booking to truly flourish? This isn't awful main roster booking, in Bayley's case. It is a terminal main roster career.
A 180, literal turn is the only way back.
