10 Stars Who Got Ripped After They Left WWE

Look what you can achieve with a bit of extra spare time, eh...

WWE has long been known as the place where the beefy boys and girls come to do some wrasslin'.

Looking back through the company's history, it's pretty hard to argue with that being the case.

Getting shredded isn't just something you can decide to do one morning and have it done by the end of the week, however. It takes hours and hours of hard graft in the gym and a laser focus on what you're putting into your body at all times...by that I mean food, hopefully not the other more illegal thing.

So, even if a modern WWE star did want to shift some of that extra weight and chisel their physiques into a piece of modern art, often they simply don't have the time or energy to commit to their transformation due to being worked so hard by the infamously gruelling WWE schedule.

Once a talent leaves the company, though, a few spaces in their diary are suddenly freed up and all that travelling/working time is soon replaced by focussed training sessions and consistent eating patterns.

It's interesting to note what could have been for a few of these stars had they been able to get into the shape of their lives whilst under WWE contract. For now, though, let's all just marvel at how ridiculously shredded these ten talents all got after leaving WWE.

10. Rey Mysterio

Using his diminutive frame and lightening fast reactions to get the better of his foes throughout his stellar career, Rey Mysterio appeared to be content with his slight frame and had definitely earned his fair share of success with the body he had.

Yet, when the masked sensation finally left WWE in 2015 he clearly felt that it was time for a change.

Replacing the cardio with free weights and a new diet plan, Mysterio posted a picture on his Instagram in August 2016 which outlined just how insanely hench the 'Master of the 619' had become in the time since leaving Vince McMahon's company behind.

Mysterio legitimately looked like an absolute tank and it took a while for some fans to adjust to the image of the once plucky little man now looking like he could crush a watermelon just by giving it a loving hug.

When Mysterio finally did return to WWE shores in 2018, the luchador looked like a star reborn and his improved fitness appeared to have given him a new lease on life. Incredibly, this newly shredded version of Mysterio began to churn out bangers on par with his early 2000 work and his new found focus on nutrition seems to have provided him with a few more years at the highest level.
