10 Stars Who Got Ripped After They Left WWE

5. Santino Marella

When Anthony Carelli (Santino Marella to use his WWE moniker) was tragically forced to retire in 2014 due to a third neck injury, the former Intercontinental Champion didn't just sit back and take his foot off the gas.

Jumping into a more hands on role inside of his Battle Arts Academy (which he helped set up in 2013) Marella fully committed himself to becoming a Martial Arts coach after his WWE career came to an abrupt end.

Marella had practised Judo for years, but had to step away from the discipline when he became a full time pro wrestler. However, his impromptu retirement suddenly meant that he could fully immerse himself in being a Judo coach for his young students.

On top of using his time to teach the next generation, Marella also began to spend many more hours in the gym and his numerous progress pictures on Instagram definitely showcase a star who has physically benefitted from significant time away from WWE's arduous schedule.

Marella seems especially happy to continue his work as a Judo coach for the foreseeable future and stands as yet another shining example of how a star's physical fitness can actually improve once they call time on their wrestling career.
