To say that the past half-decade has been frustrating for Dolph Ziggler is an understatement. In all of WWE history, there are few stars who have been so close to cracking the company's glass ceiling so many times without cementing themselves as main eventers. Dolph is a world-class talent who always delivers excellent matches, but for reasons known only to WWE's brass, they prefer to use Ziggler in the midcard. The sad truth is that, to the WWE office, the largest problem with making Dolph a main event star is that he isn't one already. It's a logical fallacy, considering he's had the talent for years and it's only the creative team's incompetence that's held him back, but the company typically likes to make superstars out of talent right off the bat - when a guy is considered a midcarder, that's a mark against him to the company, and he typically stays a midcarder for life. Still, fans maintain hope - they cheer loudly for the talented former World Heavyweight Champion, hoping that it will make a difference. Maybe it will - supposed career midcarders like Jeff Hardy and Daniel Bryan became top guys because of fan reaction. Nevertheless, a greater role for Dolph isn't something we'll see if those in charge have their way.
