10 Stars WWE Doesn't Want You To Love

5. Kevin Owens

Few WWE superstars have debuted as auspiciously as Kevin Owens. As the reigning NXT Champion, Owens showed up on Raw and laid out John Cena with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. The two met in Owens's WWE debut at Elimination Chamber 2015, and the NXT Champion hit the Pop-Up Powerbomb again - this time, using it to pin Cena cleanly in a classic match. The two had a rematch at Money in the Bank and Cena came out on top, but a rubber match would decide the winner of the war. With Owens having lost the NXT Title and left the developmental brand prior to the third bout with Cena, the path for him to become U.S. Champion seemed to be clear. The two clashed once more in another exciting contest, but many fans were surprised - and disappointed - when Cena picked up the submission victory with the STF. Owens would not be the United States Champion anytime soon. The next night on Raw, Owens was part of a contingent of WWE stars who helped separate a brawling Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker - traditionally, not a slot in which WWE places its top talent, thinking it makes them look less important. While Owens has since won the Intercontinental Championship, his placement on the card since the third Cena match suggests he has more fans in the crowd than on the creative team.
