10 Steps IMPACT Wrestling Must Take Following Slammiversary 2021
8. Instantly Make Something Of The New Faces
Several names came into IMPACT coming out of the post-Slammiversary tapings, with PWInsider reporting three of those have officially signed full-time with the promotion. John Skyler, Savannah Evans, and the Drama King, the former Aiden English, will be in IMPACT imminently.
IMPACT has a decent history of bringing new names into the fold (see: W. Morrissey), and these three should be no different to that, Matt especially.
Going by a follow-up PWInsider report, the former NXT Tag Team Champion will be partnered with Deonna Purrazzo for the Homecoming King and Queen tournament next weekend. Given 'The Virtuosa's' current positioning within IMPACT, the real-life Matt Rehwoldt will seemingly be placed quite high on the card from the offset, most importantly, as a heel.
This is precisely what WWE should have done with him, as opposed to having him play the role of Meaningless Jobber #374.
As for Skyler and Evans, both could easily become major players in the promotion, with Evans seemingly being the new partner for Tasha Steelz post-Fire N Flava. Debuting and instantly aligning yourself with a two-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion, particularly someone with such a captivating aura as Tasha Steelz, could act as a testament to IMPACT's immediate with in Evans.
Skyler, meanwhile, needs to be an addition to the X Division. A stiff, strong-style scrap vs. Josh Alexander over a stereotypically cruiserweight-style title is something your writer could easily get behind.
