8. More Classic Mind Games From The Undertaker

The biggest weakness in the build-up to this match was that both men made very few actual appearances. Lesnar’s special contract allowed him limited dates for an exorbitant amount of money, while Undertaker had health problems that limited him to only two or three appearances.

So while Lesnar had Paul Heyman to sell their match like no one else can, Undertaker could’ve been used more…through his legendary mind games.

Throughout the later years of his career, Undertaker could still bring a menacing presence to any WWE arena through the use of his mind games. Yet these were seldom used, if at all during the feud, and more often than not, Heyman and Lesnar would cut a promo to convince the audience that Lesnar would win, and the Undertaker wouldn’t even respond with an eerie ‘supernatural event’.

In re-booking this feud, Undertaker would make full use of his psychological, supernatural games. Make lightning bolts strike the ring posts. Bring out a casket with a dummy of Brock Lesnar. Repeat the sequence where ‘Taker pins Lesnar on SmackDown ad infinitum. While we’re at it, why not show ghoulish images of Cain Velasquez, Frank Mir, and Alistair Overeem, as a means of getting under Lesnar’s skin?

These small additions, which wouldn’t even require Undertaker to be present, would make the whole feud much more personal, exciting, and dramatic.
