10 Steps To Improve WWE Survivor Series 2022’s Build
6. Don’t Be Afraid To Disrupt The Line-Up
Some of WWE’s best Survivor Series showdowns since 2016 have been the direct result of a sudden, but well-placed change of plans. Another such opportunity was missed this year when the one-on-one rematch between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair was missed yet again for a rivalry that largely resolved itself at WrestleMania two years prior.
Yes, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are arguably the two biggest names in the women’s division. Yes, they produced a fantastic near-20-minute brawl. But Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks have done the same with a decidedly smaller window. While the argument could be made that their respective personalities were too big share the ring with four partners, Becky and Charlotte could have conducted their turf war to demonstrate which one was a better general for the division without dredging up the unnecessary backstage drama.
Imagine a scenario where Charlotte drops the RAW Women’s Championship to Belair on the Monday before Crown Jewel (a course of action that Charlotte herself allegedly pitched) and Sasha wins the ensuing triple threat match that Thursday. Instead of turning the elimination tag match into a farce where Bianca steamrolls four members of Team SmackDown on her own, the WrestleMania rematch at SummerSlam that never was finally comes to fruition. RAW Women's Champion Bianca Belair squares off with SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks and the belt exchange fiasco between Becky and Charlotte never takes place.
Staying the course isn't always the best course. Know where to throw a curveball.
