10 Sting Matches You Must See Before His WWE Debut

9. Sting vs. Vader (Slamboree 1994)

There are few wrestlers that brought the very best out of Sting the way Vader did during the first-half of the 1990s. Together, they delivered several outstanding main events that utilized a simple formula: Vader would beat the unholy hell out of Sting, who would make a Superman-like comeback to either win or fall just short of defeating the Mastadon. It was incredibly effective storytelling that played extremely well to the fans south of the Mason-Dixon line. By the time May 1994's Slamboree show rolled around, the competitors had wrestled so many matches against each other that their chemistry was second to none. They could have wrestled the match blindfolded and with both arms tied behind their back and still delivered a quality main event. The very vocal fans in Philadephia responded favorably to the great heavyweight title bout, proving that the rivalry played to audiences across the country. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5mduq_slamboree-1994-sting-vs-vader_sport The arrival of Hulk Hogan and the infiltration of WCW by the Hulkster's closest friends effectively ended one of the greatest rivalries in company history.
