10 Sting Matches You Must Watch On WWE Network

2. Sting vs. Cactus Jack (Beach Blast 1992)

Mick Foley has called this match one of his favorites of all-time and it's easy to see why. WCW had been trying to build Sting into their champion for the 1990s. Sting was being fed opponents and meant to look strong but the real curveball came when Cactus Jack was signed as his next opponent. Foley himself was unaware that the feud was merely a one-off designed to make Sting look like a world beater. Foley came into WCW thinking he was a main event guy and wanted to put on a match that deserved that main event slot. The match was booked as a Falls Count Anywhere On The Gulf Coast and wasn't for the WCW world title because the Cactus Jack character thought that injuring Sting was more important than the title. They proceeded to have a crazy brawl all around the arena with Foley taking his usual sick bumps and Sting being forced into a brawling style that the crowd wasn't accustomed to seeing. Sting even took his own huge bump into the crowd railing and Jack responded by taking a back suplex onto the concrete floor. They exchanged chair shots and finally Sting mustered up his last bit of energy to hit Jack with a flying clothesline and get the pinfall. It was a crazy brawl that completely changed the way Sting had been wrestling. This was an absolute, must-see brawl.
