9. Sting vs. Big Van Vader vs. The Guardian Angel (Fall Brawl 1994)
Before I get any questions, the Guardian Angel was the latest in a line of bad gimmicks for Ray Traylor, otherwise known as the Big Bossman. This was actually a mini-tournament of sorts, with a coin toss determining that the first match would be Vader vs. the Guardian Angel and the winner of that would face Sting. Vader naturally destroyed the Angel in a rather lackluster match but the Vader vs. Sting matchup is what people really wanted to see anyway. Sting and Vader proceeded to have their usual great match with Sting using his athleticism to stick and move while Vader used his overwhelming power and bulk to squash Sting. Harley Race also interfered at will and got some good heat while Sting took a beating. Sting eventually managed to hook the Scorpion Deathlock but the time limit expired before Vader submitted so overtime was declared. The two men battled some more with power moves and suplex off the top rope. Vader hit his powerbomb finisher on Sting but the referee was too slow counting and the time limit expired for a second time. Finally, it was declared that the first man knocked off of his feet would be the loser. Vader starts hammering on Sting with right hands and Sting wobbles on his feet. Vader comes launching at him with a clothesline but still Sting won't go down and the crowd goes nuts. Sting makes a comeback and knocks Vader down but Harley Race was distracting the referee and that allows a masked man to sneak in and knock Sting down, giving Vader the win. Screwy finish aside, this was yet another great entry into the feud between Sting and Big Van Vader.
