10 Stories WWE Could Execute Right Now
8. Bray Wyatt, Cult Leader. Seriously This Time.
Bray Wyatt's Cape Fear/Texas Chainsaw Massacre gimmick is played out. The Wyatt family are dispersed and his star has fallen to the point where it's surprising when he wins a match. But Bray's character is compelling and versatile enough to remake the fortunes of the Eater of Worlds. This dark star of the WWE need not fade away.
First, a makeover. Maybe a suit, his dreadlocks tied back, an occult televangelist whose dreadful charisma beams out of him. Maybe a high priest of darkness, his way to the ring illuminated with arcane sigils and lit torches.
Bray promises a new start. To the downtrodden and betrayed, to those who have reached rock bottom, he can give a new life. A new purpose. They can be a part of his ascendancy to the heights, of something bigger than any of them. Lower-card wrestlers forgotten and unused flock to him in the hope he can remake their fortunes.
This self-serving Messiah uses his acolytes to reach the top of the heap and remain there, enthroned, grinning in malevolent glee at the WWE universe that cowers before his might.
