10 Storylines AEW Dropped COLD

1. Who Attacked Jon Moxley?

There were lots of implied assailants.

Kenny Omega's hands were clean, but the eventual reveal of his alliance with Don Callis, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows suddenly pointed towards one or all of the Impact boys being responsible. The Forbidden Door was opened in plain sight before KENTA formerly walked through it a few weeks later, and an in-ring sneak attack may was perhaps used to confirm that he'd been the one behind the backstage assault. Reddit detectives were also keen to point out that Moxley was left prone in the "Hanged Man" position, to indicate Adam Page's involvement and/or the framing of him for it.

All interesting ideas with sprawling ramifications. All bewilderingly left to twist in the wind as Mox found himself with additional vengeance to enact instead. Alongside the aforementioned screwjob perpetrated by Omega and Callis, he then had The Young Bucks' betrayal to contend with alongside a renewed friendship with Eddie Kingston.

All of this seemed to have eyes on a longterm prize with an eventual heel turn, but real life factors sadly parked that too. It remains a mystery, and will most likely stay that way.
