10 Storylines AEW Dropped COLD

9. Miro Wants To Take Gold Home To His Wife

Jon Moxley

Across a series of awesome vignettes and promos following his TNT Championship loss to Sammy Guevara, Miro seemingly carved out an awesome rematch/revenge angle against the Inner Circle man and a television programme with Hangman Page at the same time.

The premise was grandiose in presentation but oddly straightforward in execution - he was so ashamed of not being draped in gold that he refused to go home to his wife until he'd rectified it.

The stars seemingly aligned when he was inserted into the AEW World Heavyweight Championship Eliminator as Jon Moxley's replacement, but a Full Gear defeat against Bryan Danielson knocked him out of contention entirely. It was then revealed that he'd been working through injuries anyway, and almost every and all reference to his quest disappeared along with the man himself.

He's been a big miss since departing, and his menacing aura will now take some rebuilding if and when he's able to return.
