The new normal! Wash your hands! Strange times!

Yes, coronavirus has done a number on the world and we all need to be more aware when it comes to our personal hygiene, but are you really going to put your faith in WWE-produced hand sanitiser? Let me answer that for you; no, no you're not.

What if that hand sanitiser is adorned with the iconic colours of the 24/7 Championship? How about the rebellious symbol that was the nWo spray-painted WCW Championship? Maybe you'll feel more safe cleaning your hands with sanitiser pumped from the famous image of the winged eagle?

No, no and no. WWE isn't the only company to try and cash-in on the new norms brought in by a global pandemic, but it remains disappointing that it has chosen to do so in typically half-arsed style. Branded hand sanitiser is just about as apt a product as the company could make, a disappointing and borderline offensive attempt at branding that which goes beyond such things.

What's more, the personal hand sanitiser costs £4.13 for just 60ml of the stuff. In typical WWE style, fans are expected to pay way over the odds for a slither of a product.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
