10 Strangest Ways To Win A Wrestling Championship

5. Winning A Randomised Lockbox (TNA Knockouts World Championship)

The Knockouts World Championship is arguably the best-booked of TNA's championships. It has a strong track record of champions, from Gail Kim and Deonna Purrazzo to Awesome Kong and Jordynne Grace.

But in 2010, its legitimacy faded.

Angelina Love, Daffney, Tara, and Velvet Sky bested Hamada, Lacey von Erich, Madison Rayne, and ODB in an intricate four-on-four elimination bout, wherein whoever scored an elimination would also leave the match, albeit with a key to a mysterious lockbox. It doesn't sound that bad for circa-2010 TNA - but it was horrific.

Tara, the defending Knockouts Champion who was still a hot act in the company, lost the title when she opened her lockbox, which revealed her pet spider, and Velvet Sky won a future opportunity at TNA's women's strap. Meanwhile, Angelina Love, won the title itself, all by getting the right key and without pinning the champion.

Daffney, for those pondering how TNA could possibly set women's rights back fifty years, was ordered to perform a striptease.

Terrible, grotesque booking...

...had it not been for the fact WWE was parading women in similar fashion over a decade earlier...
