10 Strangest WWE Extreme Rules Stipulations

8. Russian Chain Match (2015)

John Cena vs. Rusev The announcers have already pointed out that we haven€™t seen this match in WWF/E in 30-plus years, so that automatically makes this a rare stipulation. However, it€™s not entirely honest to call this a really unique match. If you look at the match rules, it basically is a strap match, just using a chain instead of a leather strap. John Cena and Rusev will be chained together, and the winner must touch all four corners in succession. That basically makes this the fourth such match in seven years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avEtb5XLbpA Still, the fact that Cena and Rusev will be wailing on each other with a metal chain definitely bumps this up a notch. Giving a nod to a classic Bruno Sammartino versus Ivan Koloff Russian Chain Match also doesn€™t hurt its standing as a unique match in WWE.
