10 Strongest Booked Wrestlers In WWE Today

7. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura has become one of SmackDown’s most over wrestlers by barely lifting a finger. His appearances since joining the main roster have been kept low-key, but that’s the point. WWE are teasing the audience by offering the smallest glimpses of Nakamura’s talents, gradually escalating every week until he finally steps into the ring later this month at Backlash.

Last week’s Michael Jackson-themed segment with Dolph Ziggler was horrendous, and hopefully just an anomaly. Up to that point, ‘The King of Strong Style’ had earned some of the show’s loudest pops by just making his entrance, and engaging in fleeting confrontations with Ziggler and The Miz. WWE are maximising his appeal by showing rare restraint, and not oversaturating him early in his run. It’s working, and if the Ziggler match delivers, Nakamura will be well on his way to becoming a major main roster star.

You can’t book Nakamura in the same way as a Dean Ambrose or a Seth Rollins. He has a major superstar aura that must be protected, and competing in listless television matches every week diminishes that. He’ll need to start wrestling with more regularity sooner or later, but it should be a long time before he picks-up his first loss.
