10 Stunning Displays Of WWE Arrogance

2. Treatment Of WCW During Invasion Angle

The WWF flushed away the potential for millions of dollars by virtue of the fact that they treated WCW like dirt. Vince McMahon should have realised that his company had won the 'Monday Night Wars' outright. He had purchased the dying remnants of WCW, his major competition for years. A potential goldmine lurked just over the horizon, because people had eagerly awaited the chance to see WWF vs. WCW matches for years. Instead of capitalising on this potential for megabucks, McMahon decided it'd be best to treat incoming WCW performers as second rate. The message was loud and clear, the WWF had won and these WCW cast offs were lucky to get a gig with the biggest company around. That was the wrong mentality to have, because it ended up making the 'Invasion' angle a failure when it should have been a surefire success. Top names like Booker T and Diamond Dallas Page were made to look like chumps compared to The Rock, Steve Austin, Kurt Angle and The Undertaker. Page was even pinned by 'Taker's then-wife Sara live on Monday Night Raw. After the story had finished and WCW was left discarded, people wondered what might have been if the WWF hadn't decided to be so superior.
