10. Eric Bischoff Feels Bret Hart Was Finished After WWF
In 'Controversy Creates Cash', Eric Bischoff tells his life story, detailing at length how he broke into the wrestling business, and eventually went on to run WCW. Of course, later chapters exclusively deal with his stint as an on-air character in WWE, but it's reading about the ego running wild in Atlanta which readers were most interested in. In interviews since, it seems that Bischoff wasn't exactly fond of a fair few of the talents he worked with in WCW, likely because he had to deal with a different side to them than most people. Bret Hart was a massive acquisition for the company in late-1997, and definitely the hottest free agent in wrestling at that point. Just coming off the infamous 'Montreal Screwjob', Hart entered WCW with a lot on his mind, but would never really catch fire in the company, ending his career less than three years later. In his book, Bischoff claims he felt almost cheated by The Hitman, who was emotionally spent by his previous WWF tenure, and could never live up his billing in WCW. Since the book's release, the former head honcho has had less than flattering things to say about Hart, calling him - among other things - "bitter".
