Through reading the man's books, and listening to him talk publicly, it's clear that Mick Foley values the thought of making friends in a business which is generally considered as being pretty heartless and cut-throat. In his first book in particular, Mick shows that he's a huge fan of the wrestling industry, and desperately wants to forge good relationships with those around him. Writing in his fourth work, 'Countdown To Lockdown', Foley mainly describes the build up to his match opposite Sting at the TNA Pay-Per-View of the same name in 2009. More interestingly, the man also details his latter days in WWE, which also involved working as an announcer on the Smackdown brand, along with the legendary Jim Ross. Vince McMahon is well-known for barking orders and instructions through the headset at his commentators, usually from the Gorilla Position behind the curtain. For some reason, Foley figured he might be different, and didn't take kindly to being roared at as he was trying to concentrate on speaking to an audience of millions around the world. Admitting that he feels his relationship with Vince may never be the same after working as an announcer, Foley seems pretty upset at the thought of not being quite as important to McMahon as the owner was to him.
