10 Stupidest Decisions By WWE In 2003

The year where Triple H and The McMahon's egos ran wildest?

Has WWE ever had a roster as stacked as it did in 2003? They had Hogan, Austin, Rock, Triple H, Scott Steiner, Goldberg, Angle, The Undertaker, Lesnar, Kane, Michaels...and that's just the 'top' guys! Down below you had the Benoits, Guerreros, Van Dams, Ortons and Mysterios of the world, who were all tearing it up on a weekly basis. You don't really know what you've got until it's gone, huh? If the WWE roster of today had but half of that mix of genuine star power and in-ring prowess, it's unlikely that fans would continue to tune out in droves (as they are doing now). Although, saying that, WWE's ratings, live attendance and PPV buyrates did slip from 2002 in 2003 and it was clear that WWE was on a downturn (despite being financially healthy and extremely profitable). So what gives? Why were fans moving on when the roster was as good as it was? Well, all the talent and star power in the world won't make up for crappy creative, which is exactly what happened in 03. WWE had all the tools at their disposal but they couldn't put the pieces together, leading to haphazard and short-sighted booking decisions that inevitably left a sour taste in the mouths of fans. As well as creative misfires, WWE also made other costly decisions (personal, business and otherwise) during that year. Here are ten of the stupidest.
