One of the first gimmicks of the man who would be Diesel - Kevin Nash - was a Wizard of Oz-inspired character called Oz back in the early days of WCW. As Oz, Nash dressed in green robes and wore a wizard mask and he was accompanied to the ring by his manager Merlin the Wizard, portrayed by Kevin Sullivan. The costume was needlessly flamboyant and, frankly, stupid and pointless. When it actually came down to wrestling, he simply wore and ordinary pair of wrestling pants and had nothing to do with wizardry. In hindsight, Nash probably feels very silly about having used this gimmick and worn this costume.
