10 Stupidest Reasons Wrestlers Turned Heel

10. Goldberg - "Why The Hell Not?"

That was seriously Goldberg's explanation in 2000.

After turning heel at the promotion's Great American Bash pay-per-view, big Billy appeared on TV to tell the world exactly what Vince Russo had said during creative meetings. 'Why the hell not, bro?' came the cry, and WCW booked another swerve for the sake of it even though nobody wanted to boo Goldberg.

This later led to Bill going "off script" (the announcers actually said something to that effect) at New Blood Rising and turning babyface again. Yes, Goldberg turned heel in June because he had nothing else better to do, and then turned back baby in August 'cause he refused to work the finish WCW's creative team had scripted.

Congrats, Bill - you win a prize for flip-flopping between alignments and making sure both reasons were as counterproductive to business as each other. Even this writer, who loved WCW, can't deny that 2000 was a messy nightmare that just kept throwing up stupid scenarios.
