10 Stupidest Reasons WWE Wrestlers Turned Babyface

8. Finlay (Storyline Son Changed His Ways)

Hornswoggle wasn't called Hornswoggle when he first debuted.

The impish rogue was genuinely called 'Little Bastard' in 2006, and his only role was to emerge from underneath the ring and make life hell for Finlay's opponents. Ignoring the obvious (that he was a stereotypical Irish leprechaun), Lil' B did receive enough of a reaction from live crowds to warrant his position.

Problems wouldn't start until WWE revealed that Hornswoggle was actually Vince McMahon's illegitimate son. Then, in a twist, JBL told the world that wee Horny was actually Finlay's son instead - that turned out to be true, in storyline, and exactly no-one was thrilled. Suddenly, the previously-tough Finlay turned into a caring father figure.

WWE's announcers tried to explain that he only loved his lad and that Hornswoggle had changed his violent ways. The issue here was that Finlay and his sidekick had already been heels together before any of this McMahon-related soap opera crud.
