10 Stupidest Reasons WWE Wrestlers Turned Babyface

9. Carlito (Couldn't Be Arsed Anymore)

There was a time when it seemed certain that Carlito would blossom into a World Championship level performer. He of much 'Caribbean Cool' had the charisma, youth and in-ring skills to make it happen. There was just one problem: Carly couldn't really be bothered.

That lack of motivation weirdly became the reason behind his second babyface run in 2007. None other than Ric Flair was outraged that Carlito had turned up late for a show (or something), and ranted at him for spurning his potential. Somehow, outing the dude as a lazy sod was supposed to make fans love the guy.

No prizes for guessing that it didn't work.

This counter-productive nonsense was up there with the time Steve Austin tried to get Lance Storm attention by calling him boring. Unlike that angle though, Carlito was meant to be a baby fans could get behind. WWE maybe wanted to legit light a fire inside Carly, but this turn sucked.
