Randy Orton has enjoyed 609 combined days as Champion, and at age 34, he probably isn't done yet. You've got to think he's got at least three more years around the WWE main event scene, with another reign seeming probable at some point. With that in mind, he could easily finish his career with more than 700 days as champion. That would be enough to see him steal the sixth spot on this list, but he's unlikely to ever crack the top five. Orton's accumulation of days as champion comes down to youth and circumstances. He first got his hands on the belt at No Mercy 2007, carrying the title for over a half year until Backlash 2008. Vince McMahon obviously likes the star, because he actually beat both John Cena and Triple H in a WrestleMania triple threat during that reign. Further reigns were sporadic, but Orton eventually got another long tenure when he won the title in October 2013. He didn't it drop it again until WrestleMania 30 in April 2014, when he lost a thrilling main event to Daniel Bryan. At times he hasn't been the most exciting superstar, but he has efficiently gone about his work. You don't end up the seventh most successful WWE Champion of all time without having appeal and longevity. Another thing to note about Orton, if we had included the now defunct World Title, he would hold 748 days as Champion. He's been a consistent main event guy in WWE's title scene for over a decade now, something which few men in WWE history can say.
