Muhammad Hassan was receiving the push of a lifetime upon making his debut in the WWE in late 2004. Well, that is how we all remember it, but within seven months the whole thing was over and Hassan was resigned to my beloved bin of history.

If WWE hadn't gone completely insane in July 2005, things would have been very different for Hassan. After the faeces met the fan it was revealed that Hassan was to continue his wave of success all the way to SummerSlam, where he would defeat Batista to become the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in company history.

What happened to derail this runaway train? Erm, nothing. Nope. Certainly no hooded men attacking the Undertaker with razor-wire and symbolically carrying him off as a sacrifice, that aired on the same day as the London Bombings. Nope. Not that. Nooooooo way.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
