10 Superstar Returns That Could Save WWE Payback

3. Daniel Bryan

Despite doubts that WWE would treat Bryan as a serious main eventer (based on countless other wasted opportunities to others), it seems like the bosses finally see what they have in Bryan. An underdog, an excellent wrestler, someone who is incredibly over with all age groups and a man who makes them lots of money in merchandise. The €˜Yes!€™ chant is fully integrated into the mainstream and is the new €˜What?€™ amongst the WWE Universe. He even married a Diva! 2013 and 2014 are all about Daniel Bryan, as he attempts to put himself amongst the upper echelon of all-time superstars. Typically, his WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign has hit an awful amount of bad luck. His father died soon after WrestleMania and now he has had neck surgery, expected to keep him out for two months. Normally, he would€™ve been stripped of his title by now but, in a pleasant surprise, WWE have decided to keep the belt on him until it€™s absolutely obvious that it must change. The lack of title match, especially now they€™re unified, seriously hampers the Payback card but hopefully it€™s just for one PPV. Also, to be honest, a fit Bryan would€™ve fought Kane again €“ another rematch and one that wouldn€™t exactly set hearts racing. That€™s why Bryan isn€™t higher on this list. But make no mistake, the WWE desperately needs Bryan back wrestling soon.
