10 Superstars' Best Matches Oustide Of WWE

2. Shinsuke Nakamura Vs Kota Ibushi - NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 9

Shinsuke Nakamura came into WWE doing what he's been doing for years: putting on 5-star classics. If you loved what he and Sami could do together, make no mistake, Shinsuke can make that kind of magic with plenty of people.

Ibushi and Shinsuke brutalised each other for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. Their match was so good it accomplished the near-impossible: upstaging Okada vs Tanahashi. Ibushi felt a 'King of Strong Style' beating like no other. By the end of it, both men were just punching and stomping each other square in the face.

This match epitomised the new golden age that NJPW is witnessing. The IWGP Intercontinental Championship went from an upper-midcard strap to a legitmate '1B' to the Heavyweight Title's '1A'. Ibushi and Shinsuke told the story of two gladiators who were willing to kill each other and themselves just to walk out of the Tokyo Dome with the IC belt. This is the perfect example of how one match can not only make two megastars, but also one hell of a prestigious championship.

If Nakamura has made you a fan with his work in NXT, and you're looking to delve into his history in Japan, this match is the perfect place to start.
