10 Superstars Most Responsible For WWE's New Boom Period
7. Dominik Mysterio
You don't have to be a fan favourite to be insanely over.
As much as fans need heroes, they need villains too, and a case can be made that Dominik Mysterio is the most effective heel in wrestling.
What doesn't get mentioned much, is how he has levelled up during his ascent to the most loathed man in WWE. Starting out as the ultimate nepo-baby, 'Dirty' Dom's ceiling appeared to be popping a 6-1-9 with his dad, and delivering mediocre performances in their tag team.
What a difference a year and a heel turn makes.
What started as 'go away' heat has now morphed into genuine, well-deserved heat - and Mysterio has steered fully into the perception the fans have of him. He cowers behind his Judgment Day brethren, and relies on his 'Mami', Rhea Ripley (more on her later), to do his fighting for him. It has been tremendous stuff, and by shunting any ego to the side, the former WWE Tag Team Champion has become a pillar of Monday Night Raw.
Nobody thought he would be amount to much after his sentimental tag team with his father disbanded, but 'Ex-Con Dom' is one of the highlights of a stable that has continued to defy the odds.
