6. Rob Van Dam
WWE.comAnd now ladies and gentlemen, a brief insight into the minds of WWE Creative. What do you if you secure the services of a former WWE and ECW Champion, six years after his last spell with the company came to an abrupt ending back in 2007? That's right, you have him win completely nothing and essentially make him a midcard jobber! It's a miracle that Rob Van Dam retains the level of popularity he does - well actually, it isn't, because he's an outstanding talent that is being criminally underused by the WWE. He ended his exile from the WWE back in 2013, and continues to wrestle with the company to this very day. But the company have given him precious little in terms of storylines, or even a run with a championship around his waist. Sure, he had a couple of matches with Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship, but you just knew the WWE wouldn't have the guts to stick the belt on a guy that had just returned from TNA. Time is running out in the career of Rob Van Dam, and this latest run with the company needs to improve in order for it to be deemed a success. In truth, a seventh reign as Intercontinental Champion would do just nicely, and would certainly cement his place amongst the finest wrestlers of the 21st century. But as it stands right now, you get the feeling Van Dam shouldn't have wasted his time in coming back.
