9. Jesse 'The Body' Ventura
Ventura performed as a heel and often used the motto: "Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat." Jesse had a storied career in the Pacific Northwest and AWA before moving to the WWE with his tag team partner Adrian Adonis. The pair would be managed by 'Classy' Freddie Blassie and would fail to land the WWE Tag Team Championships. Despite this, both Adonis and Ventura became relatively successful singles wrestlers, often challenging Bob Backlund for the WWE Championship. Ventura's inclusion on this list is a slightly harsh one as his WWE career was cut short around four years after signing for the company. In 1984, blood clots in his lungs ended his in-ring career. He claimed the blood clots were a result of his exposure to Agent Orange during his time serving in Vietnam. Ventura would return to the ring a few more times before retiring indefinitely. Most notably, he would form a tag-team with "Macho Man" Randy Savage & Savage's manager, Miss Elizabeth. Jesse would go on to forge a successful career as a wrestling commentator and then politician. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
