10 Superstars With Pasts They Want You To Forget

1. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka

Jimmy Snuka was one of the most popular wrestlers in the world in the 1980s. His high flying acrobatics and weird charisma made crowds fall in love with him and there were rumors that Vince McMahon was deciding between Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Snuka as to who would lead his promotion during the Rock N Wrestling Era. May 10, 1983 may have altered those plans and the events of that night continue to follow Snuka to this day. After a WWF television taping in Allentown, Pennsylvania, a call was placed by Jimmy Snuka to the 911 operator. He said his girlfriend Nancy Argentino was injured and needed help. When the paramedics arrived, Argentino had suffered severe injuries to her head and died shortly after the paramedics took her from the hotel room. The coroner reported that Nancy Argentino died a traumatic brain injuries consistent with a moving head striking a stationary object. Her body was also covered in cuts and bruises which indicated possible domestic violence. The forensic pathologist who conducted the autopsy recommended that the case be investigated as a murder until further notice. Snuka was the only suspect in the murder of Nancy Argentino and the case was never closed. The family of Argentino won a $500,000 judgment against Snuka that was never paid the case remains open to this day. As recently as January 2014, the Lehigh County District Attorney announced that the Snuka case had been turned over to a grand jury so justice for Nancy Argentino and her family may still come.
