10 Superstars That Will LEAVE WWE In 2022

8. Slapjack

On the second ever episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho famously referred to Jack Swagger’s “We The People” catchphrase as a “stupid idea from bad creative”.

It was the collected works of Bret f*cking Hart compared to Slapjack.

As a member of TM61 in NXT, the former Shane Thorne was valuable in disguising that the golden era of the show's doubles division had very quietly passed. Alongside partner Nick Miller, Thorne lit up television and the odd TakeOver thanks to some daredevil antics and matches that would probably now scan as underrated.

As a member of Retribution in WWE, the former Shane Thorne was presented with one of the worst ring names in company history and a mask that looked like a paper plate. Then, he was beaten repeatedly in an angle that went from one disaster to another. Alongside partners T-Bar and Mace, Thorne played nWo B-teamer for a group without the A equivalent.

Retribution were a laughable act, but even back then the scoffs had to be caveated with a word of caution. This was bad booking on a career-killing scale, but the wrong people were set to suffer. He's wrestled just three times since the group formally disbanded, and one of those was a dark match defeat in an empty building. The future, unlike the ThunderDome, doesn't look too bright.
