10 Superstars Who Gained The Most From WWE's Wellness Policy
8. John Morrison
The WWE Wellness Policy giveth, but it also taketh away. Rey Mysterio found himself on the wrong side of the WWE Wellness Policy in 2009. At the time, he was carrying around the WWE Intercontinental Championship and had to drop it.
The beneficiary in this case was John Morrison. In September 2009, Morrison beat Mysterio for the IC title so the latter could serve his suspension. It was Morrison's third time winning that championship.
Morrison went on to enjoy his longest reign as the Intercontinental Champion. He was the mid card king up until the Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view 103 days later. Morrison never enjoyed as much success in WWE as he could have, but this was one of his longest-lasting bright spots.
Morrison must have known how Mysterio felt during that match, as Morrison had lost a championship to the Wellness Policy just two years prior.
