10 Superstars Who Gained The Most From WWE's Wellness Policy

Bobby Lashley might have remained a mid card big man were it not for a quick need to create new main event talent for WWE's ECW revival in 2006. Lashley had been a United States Champion, but a world title on Raw or Smackdown was not going to be in cards for him just yet.

While Lashley was trying to get a main event push going on Smackdown, ECW was losing its main event players to Wellness Policy suspensions. Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam were supposed to be the revived brand's big players, but both were suspended in the summer of 2006.

Before long, Angle was completely gone from the company. Van Dam returned, but was viewed as unreliable. Lashley was moved to ECW in November 2006 to fill the gap left by Angle and Van Dam. It took only a month for Lashley to capture the ECW Championship inside an Elimination Chamber at December to Dismember.

Lashley's ECW title reign was huge for him and set up a high profile match at WrestleMania 23. Lashley represented Donald Trump (no idea how Lashley feels about this now) and beat Vince McMahon's representative, Umaga. Lashley's victory secured Trump's opportunity to shave Mr. McMahon bald.
