10 Superstars Who Stole World Title Belts

10. Owen Hart Steals WWF Title From The Undertaker

The Undertaker may be the Herald of Darkness and a being of all-encompassing supernatural cosmic powers, but that didn't stop someone from yoinking the WWF title from his dressing room. During the May 5th 1997 broadcast of Monday Night Raw, Vince McMahon announced, during the lead-in to a Vader vs Goldust matchup of all things, that the WWF had been stolen. The fans didn't even get to see a backstage clip of theft being perpetrated or discovered. Somehow, the incident happening offscreen is even more embarrassing for the Deadman. He came down to the ring later on in the show, without his belt, reminding everyone that he was the champion, that the belt belonged to the "creatures of the night" and that everyone would pay if he didn't get his shiny gold thing back. Later, during a match between Steve Austin and the British Bulldog, Owen Hart emerged with the title and used it to attack the Texas Rattlesnake. It's the weakest title theft on the list, happening off camera, being stolen by someone who already had plenty of titles at the time, (Intercontinental and Tag Team) and resolved in a single night. It's hard to imagine what the WWF thought it would accomplish.
