4. Madusa Steals WWF Women's Title Belt For Nearly 20 Years
This is the longest-running heist on the list. During the Monday Night Wars, one of the most controversial moments occurred when Alundra Blaze, then WWF Women's Champion, jumped ship to WCW, and, despite being officially stripped of the title, she took off, taking the physical belt with her! In a now infamous moment, Blaze appeared on WCW Monday Nitro in December 1995, calling herself Madusa, and then proceeded to drop the title in a trashcan. What fans may not know is that, for the next two decades, she still had the original belt in her possession. Speaking on a video blog 17 years later, Madusa said: "I still hold it. No one ever took it. I still have it by the way, WWE", before proposing the idea of finally physically giving up the title in a match with then-Divas Champion, Beth Phoenix. That idea was ignored, but after almost 20 years of being blacklisted by the company, Alundra Blaze was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015. During her induction speech, a trashcan was wheeled onstage, from which she retrieved the Women's Title, saying it was 'back home where it belongs', two decades after being stolen away.
