10 Superstars Who Will Make Their WrestleMania Debut

6. Curtis Axel (Status: Confirmed)

It's incredible to think that Curtis Axel was a character which came about because WWE wanted to associate a fresh name with the magic of Paul Heyman, and the idea was that the manager had the Midas touch, turning everything he worked with into gold. Quite clearly, that chapter of Joe Hennig's life didn't work out as planned, and since being ripped from the on-screen grip of Heyman, Axel has largely floundered. The current 'Axelmania' storyline has enabled Hennig to show some personality, but mic skills are not his biggest strength, something which has noticeably held the man back since he first burst onto the main roster as the dubiously-named Michael McGillicutty in 2010. Curtis Axel is a confirmed participant in the battle royal at WrestleMania 31, which is a definite plus point for his career. Of course, it's highly likely that Axel will never top his Intercontinental Title win at the Payback Pay-Per-View in June, 2013, which fell on Father's Day, allowing Joe Hennig to have a cool moment holding a title synonymous with his father, Curt 'Mr. Perfect' Hennig. Even though he has been on the main roster since 2010, this is still Axel's very first chance to compete at WrestleMania.
