10 Surprises WWE Could Pull At Extreme Rules 2018

5. Asuka Kills Carmella

Well, not literally. We're not advocating for actual murder on WWE programming, though it would certainly help break the monotonous slog Raw has become since WrestleMania.

Asuka should kick Carmella's head off at Extreme Rules. The match will ideally be over in a matter of seconds, with James Ellsworth a non-factor in his goofy little shark cage. Ideally, the bell will ring, 'Mella will try one of her escape acts, but 'The Empress' will capture her, nail a big move or two, then put her away with a headkick knockout or flash submission.

Given how damaging this programme has been so far, this might be the only way to recover even a slither of Asuka's once imposing aura. It's also the absolute last thing WWE would consider doing.

We're probably getting another 10-15 minutes of pure f***ery, with Carmella weaselling her way out of trouble, preventing her opponent from generating any momentum. Then, James Ellsworth will either slither from the cage or drop a weapon down, leading to another crippling loss for the diminished 'Empress.'

By that point, WWE may as well send Asuka back down to NXT, but the murder-squash would tick every box.
