10 Surprising Origins Of Your Favourite Wrestling Moves

8. Jackhammer: Jaguar Yokota

The Jackhammer is so potent that often Goldberg needed only to spear someone then hit his finisher to win a match. As the second in the two-move set of the former heavyweight champion, you might assume that the Jackhammer must have been invented by some muscled behemoth.

The Jackhammer (or to use its scientific name, the Suplex Powerslam) was created by a 5'3” Japanese woman named Rimi Yokota (or to use her badass ring name, Jaguar Yokota). There are not enough adjectives to describe how amazing this woman was and you should definitely try and find some of her matches.

Although known for insane drivers (some of which would be difficult for even the largest man do) she was in fact the first person to chain together the deadlift pickup, vertical position, and drop now known as the jackhammer.

Yokota is also the innovator of the significantly less popular kneeling underhook piledriver, which is genuinely hard to perform without killing anyone, but her most well known contribution is the manoeuvre that would end nearly all of Goldbergs matches.
