Ever since Brock Lesnar returned to World Wrestling Entertainment in the Spring of 2012, 'The Beast' has been on top form, constructing world class bouts with the likes of John Cena (more on that later), The Undertaker and Triple H. However, another of Lesnar's best rivals was CM Punk, and their match at SummerSlam 2013 had more than a little bit of 'Monster vs. Underdog' to it.

Following his lengthy run with the WWE Title and attempt to beat Undertaker at WrestleMania, Punk had turned babyface, ending his alliance with Paul Heyman. At SummerSlam, he would meet Heyman's original client, Brock Lesnar, and the duo put together a hefty match, one that felt at times like a genuine fight rather than a pre-determined wrestling bout.

That has been a hallmark of Brock's return, he really stands out as someone different on the roster, and his matches have a unique vibe. It wasn't so much big bumps that permeated Punk vs. Lesnar, it was intense brawling and dramatic storytelling, the match felt decidedly old school, and if it had taken place in the mid-80's NWA with blood, it would have fit right in.
