10 Tag Team Wrestlers Who Left Their Partner For Better Things

1. Shawn Michaels

Tag Team: The Rockers Marty Jannetty did not in any way look out of place teaming each week with Shawn Michaels and we are all fully aware of how talented The Heartbreak Kid was in the ring. So, what went so badly wrong for Jannetty? Unfortunately a lot, most of which occurred within his personal life. Though, things were pretty rough at the business end too, in 1990 he mistimed a manoeuvre which would break the neck of fellow wrester, Charles Austin. Austin sued both the wrestler and the WWE, costing Jannetty a mean $1million. As the years went on Jannetty was released and rehired on several occasions due to his out of control party lifestyle, by 1997 the WWE and Jannetty had simply become tired of each other and separated for good. This time though, due to disagreements on the direction in which they were taking his character. Ok so that is Marty Jannetty covered, but whatever happened to Shawn Michaels? Let me see... there was the iconic ladder match against Razor Ramon, back to back Royal Rumble victories, THAT Ironman match at WrestleMania XII, he has lead both DX and NWO, won the first ever Elimination Chamber match, retired his good friend, Ric Flair and then joined the WWE Hall of Fame. Yeah, he did alright. One of the two wrestlers required significantly less research, can you guess which?
