10 Tag Team Wrestlers Who Left Their Partner For Better Things
2. Bret Hart
Tag Team: The Hart Foundation The Hart Foundation were a phenomenal team, Neibhart was a brawler and Hart a technical mastermind; a combination that made them extremely entertaining. However, it was clear immediately that Hart would eventually move on to bigger things. The Hitman had the full package; his in-ring execution was impeccable, he had a great look (every fan wanted his sunglasses) and he was reasonable on the microphone. The Excellence of Execution was an obvious star; unfortunately Neibhart was simply not at that level and therefore fell behind. The WWE tag team division was far more competitive in the late 80s than is the case now; though while skill could not be questioned, team names were certainly up for debate. The Foundation feuded with the likes of the Killer Bees and Brain Busters for the tag titles. That said, many modern tag names have simply been a combination of two wrestlers names squished together, such as Jeri-Show and RyBaxel; so perhaps the 80s even wins in that aspect? In 1991 The Hart Foundation went their separate ways; by 1992 Bret Hart was holding the WWE Championship and never looked back. Jim Neidharts individual career didnt really go anywhere and he soon formed a new tag team with Brets younger brother, Owen; which didnt reach the heights of the original Hart Foundation. As the years went on, Neidhart would have various forgetful stints with the company, which included him wearing a mask and going by the name of Who; purely so the commentary team could say Who is on next. Yep, by 1996 Neibhart was just that guy to Vince.
