10 Tag Team Wrestlers Who Held Their Partners Back
4. Jim Neidhart
Two-time WWE World Tag Team Champions The Hart Foundation are widely considered to be one of the best tandems in the company's history - and given how bad Jim Neidhart was in the ring, that says a lot about Bret Hart. While "The Hitman" was considered one of the most talented stars in WWE by management even before fans realized it (he was picked to compete in bouts with office favorites in order to make them look good), Neidhart was a plodding brawler who was right at home in 1980s WWE.
It's been said that Vince McMahon doesn't "get" tag team wrestling, and many a promising tandem has been split up early so that one member (usually the larger one) can get a singles push, but in the case of The Hart Foundation, it was the opposite - the team was together for six years, only splitting after losing the titles at WrestleMania VII.
By the time Bret was finally pushed as a singles wrestler, he was almost 34 years old - for comparison, that would be like John Cena getting his first shot at stardom around WrestleMania 29. While Bret certainly had an amazing career, he became a true legend in spite of spending half his WWE career tied to an anvil.
